This book is about the life of Sensei Yutaka Yaguchi, one of the most beloved martial arts instructors in the world. From his early life as a child living just outside Hiroshima, to witnessing the first atomic bomb dropped on his city, and growing up in post-war Japan, he has always kept a unique and creative perspective on life. He began his study of Shotokan karate while attending university. He chose to commit to a life of teaching and training in the martial arts, abandoning a more lucrative career in business. When he left Japan to become an instructor in the United States, he faced language issues and money issues, and still persevered to become world renowned and respected by all of his students.
He plans to retire at the end of 2016, to the chagrin and disappointment of thousands of karate students.
